POSITION SUMMARY:

Manage and oversee professional cost
accounting activities at the plant level. Implement cost control procedures, manage
the compilation of periodic statements of product cost, and develop and/or
prepare appropriate operating reports. Follow-up expenditures of appropriations
and supervise the assembly of data and comparisons of various budget items. Be
accountable for plant level responsibilities including general accounting, cost
accounting, analysis, reporting, and computer operations. Will also liaison
with corporate financial staff, as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1. 
   Prepare cost
   estimates of new or special products for establishing selling prices and
   production forecasts.
2. Responsible for routine compilation and review of
   manufacturing costs for payroll, inventory accountability, distribution of
   factory labor, verification of actual costs, overhead, returns, and computation
   of variances, etc.
3. Classify production costs in wages, material, and
   overhead and distribute costs between various divisions of management and
   production. Financial and cost analysis when required.
4. Responsible for accuracy of monthly journal entries
   and quality control of general ledger and monthly cost analysis. Analyze and
   accurately report current months’ results and forecasts in accordance with
   corporate format and time requirements.
5. Responsible for coordinating and ensuring accurate
   cycle counting and physical inventories.
6. 
   Ensure
   accuracy of the physical inventory, associated accounts, and reported results.
   Investigate and explain book to physical adjustments.   Enters monthly inventory and COGS.
7. 
   Maintain
   a perpetual inventory for finished goods and reconcile this perpetual to
   production, shipping, and returns on a daily basis.
   1. Generates
      labor cost and shipments reports for management review and manage standard cost
      system.  Assist
      in planning/forecasting where applicable (standards).
   2. 
      Conducts
      product line analysis for management review. 

10.  Ensure bill of material and
costing accurately reflect production operations.

11.  Assure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting
Policies. Resolve questions of GAAP and internal controls with corporate
financial management.

12.  Assist in the completion of special projects and/or
assignments

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree
  in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
• 
  Minimum of 5
  years of experience as a cost accountant or cost manager required
• 
  Cost experience
  in a manufacturing environment required
• 
  JD and/or QAD
  experience highly preferred
• 
  Plastic Injection
  Molding experience preferred
