Are you Interested in Managing a Major City for FreeAdLists.com?

Friday, June 18th, 2010
FreeAdLists.com is searching for qualified “city managers” for United States, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia. You would be an independent contractor of FreeAdLists.com. You would manage a major city and would be responsible for generating traffic to it.

If you want to manage another major city outside the aforementioned English speaking countries, please let us know.

Here are the benefits for your effort:

1. You keep the lion-share of the premium classified ad revenue you generate. The more you promote in your area the more you make.
2. You join an established website with a mature software design
3. Software is maintained by us, not you. You will receive technical assistance via email.

Potential candidates must be trustworthy and should have a marketing/advertising background. You need to be the entrepreneur-type and possess SEO/SEM skills. All participants must have a PayPal account in order to participate. You must conform to our no-spam, no black-hat techniques or cheating of any kind. You may not place ads against the keyword “freeadlists.com” or “FreeAdLists” or anything thing else that will defame FreeAdLists.com’s reputation. You will agree to disallow/delete any type of spam, hate, blackhat techniques, illicit, or explicit/graphic porn ads (no nudity) on your managed city. If you cheat, you will be promptly terminated — no exceptions. We reserve the right to remove CMP participants if they are not following our policies/guidelines, under-performing (city is not generating noticeable traffic), refuse to pay their monthly 25% portion of premium revenue to FreeAdLists.com (no exceptions), cheating, or maligning the reputation of FreeAdLists.com.

A marketing or advertising background is preferred.

Here is an example of a city page – Toronto (City availability is limited)

If you are looking for a get-rich quick offer, this is definitely not your opportunity.

You MUST be 18 years or older.

If you are interested, please contact us at citymgr AT freeadlists DOT com

After 3 Years, FreeAdLists.com Continues to Grow in the Classified Ads Space

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

The other day I was asked what was the hardest part about starting freeadlists.com. Most people would think technical implementation as being the most difficult. Not hardly. Well, it was — starting it. It was very difficult to gain traction. Frankly speaking, people do not trust new websites in general for obvious and varied reasons. On the surface, classified ads seem like an easy business model to work – people post ads, people view ads. But as most small business owners already know, it’s not that easy with any small business. Anyone that tells you starting a small business is easy, you should run or get a shovel—it’s BS. But after 3 years, we are definitely gaining traction. More and more people trust our website, which was definitely not an overnight event. Our bounce rate is now one of the lowest in the classified ads industry.  I hope the site’s momentum continues and we will continue to improve its usability for our buyers and sellers.

Thank you for making freeadlists.com a success.

Where the Heck is my Confirmation Email? Perhaps…

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010
We receive numerous emails each day from posters about not receiving their confirmation email. We noticed most of these “bit bucket” emails are from the following domains: aol.com, bellsouth.net, comcast.net, earthlink.net, netzero.net, charter.net, juno.com, sbcglobal.net, exite.com, verizon.net and lycos.com.
Apparently these email service providers are filtering your correspondence, so please use a different email domain.
The other alternative is to register and then no confirmation email is required.

Suggest to Add Your City to FreeAdLists.com

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Lately, we have been receiving a number of requests to add cities for certain countries. Frankly speaking, we don’t mind doing that but we are looking to add cities that are over 1 million in population. Lately, we have received a few requests for cities under 10K. In these cases, please use the “other cities in state/country” option so we can keep the city database manageable.

Also, if you don’t mind, please help spread the word for your particular city.

At any rate, here are a few Indian cities that have been added in the past 2-3 days per request.

Delhi
Mumbai
Bangalore
Chennai
Kolkata
Indore

Why are you attracting certain visitors to your site or blog?

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

I find FeedJit’s Live Traffic Feed widget useful – gives me a rough idea of who is visiting the site and WHERE they are coming from. But frankly speaking, every time I observe links coming from some of those African-based countries, I cringe.  Why? Not all, but many of the pet scammers on the Internet are coming from those areas.  Now these bums/scammers or their representatives are hanging out at airports. Here is one interesting story on the topic.

Break out Website Pages From Enclosing Frames

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

I was reviewing my statistics at MyBlogLog and found a couple referrals that were coming via the link listed below. It appears the website below is using redirects and frames to display advertising panels that seem to be associated with FreeAdLists.com. They are not associated with us! I had a similar issue with Top Blog Lists a few months ago, and in that particular case, I wrote the offending webmaster regarding the enclosing frames (from the Netherlands) on a number of occasions but he never responded – no big surprise there!

By the way, here is a script to prevent this type of activity with your website pages.

Do Not Play the Fake Check or Money Order Games

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

Here is an astute seller. As I have warned repeatedly, DO NOT deal with persons who are not within driving distance, especially “buyers” from overseas. Why? There is a great probability that these distance “buyers” are low-life scammers. Don’t get taken by these fake check or money order scammers — do your own due diligence.

By the way, I received this particular email because it was inadvertently sent to the FreeAdLists.com no reply email system.

Here is the seller’s comment: “hi there the MGB IS STILL AVAILABLE WILL SELL IT FOR $4400 USD CASH IT RUNS GREAT AND JUST NEEDS PAINT ALL THE BODY IS COMPLETE PLZ DONT PAY THE FAKE CHECK OR MONEY ORDER GAMES. I AM REALLY TIRED OF ALL THESE PEOPLE SENDING ME FAKE CHECKS. I DO CHECK EVERYTHING OUT, THANKS”
