Many hear that there is benefit in using free classified ads to promote a product, service, or opportunity. So they flock to them and toss up their ads with little regard for rules or submission guidelines, sometimes only creating for themselves a huge waste of time when they find their classified ads flagged or removed by users or the website they were placed on.
Get Familiar
Make sure to read all the classified ads website rules or regulations. Most of them will
state clearly such issues as:
- How many ads per user/per time period
- How to avoid being flagged by others
- Requirements for mentions of business or services
Nearly all classified ad sites differ, so users will need to take note of each set of rules on different sites they use to avoid having their accounts flagged to allow minimal posting, or entirely banned from posting at all.
Keep a Calendar or Posting Schedule
Whether you are posting your classified ads or having others do it for you. Keep a file or schedule available so that you know which sites you can post to each day. This should help prevent overlaps that could cost you benefits on your favorite advertising site.
Do Not Use Inappropriate Tags or Photos
Try to make sure your categories, tags and photos are an accurate reflection of your product or service. Never post rated X photos of anything on a classified ad site that does not allow it. If you do you can expect users and the site administrators to not only flag or ban your account, but you always run the risk of bad PR for the site or service you are trying to promote. Remember that there are bloggers everywhere, so keep your business as professional as you can.
