Recognizing USA Jobs Frauds on Online Classified Ad Sites

There are many disreputable sources that abuse the capabilities to reach so many internet users via online classified ad sites. Unfortunately, some of these are utilizing a source that gains much attention these days. The advertisements for USA jobs can be widely varying, but there are a few clues to watch out for when reading them that may indicate they could be a possible scam or another sort of false advertising.

  • Erroneous location information. If the ad mentions locations that are unfamiliar to you in an area you are extremely familiar with, you may want to steer clear of it.
  • Inconsistent sounding pay. If lofty and too-good-to-be-true hourly or salary rates of pay are listed on an ad, they may just be glorified or entirely false ads.
  • Jobs that require an ‘investment’. No real employment position will require a job seeker to make an investment in any product of the ad posters’, or even services required to ‘qualify’ for a job. If you see any position that requires you to register with a service that charges a fee, run away quickly.
  • Any ad that requires that you enter a cell phone number specifically to gain any information or ‘insiders’ info to the prospective job is just another cell phone registration company scam and will likely also cause you to incur cost to your cell phone provider monthly bill.
  • Ads that do not list rates of pay at all may also be questionable since for the most part, classified ad USA jobs postings will require the user to list some type of salary to even complete the ad posting form. If a company goes out of their way to avoid mentioning pay rates they may be a good company to avoid.
  • Unprofessional language or even seemingly unprofessional requests in an online classified ad site is more than enough reason to question its validity.

Remember, when hunting for USA jobs in online classified ad sites always utilize the ability to search any and all specific information provided about the posting company in their ad. Utilize search engines or even phone numbers to confirm the source is a legitimate one before providing anyone with your personal information.
